This photograph of the famous bronze statue of Duke Kahanamoku on world-famous Kūhiō Beach is an iconic landmark in Waikīkī on Oʻahu. Kahanamoku won five Olympic medals as a swimmer and is considered the father of modern surfing. This 9-foot statue right on the beach is fitting: His arms open wide, welcoming visitors to the island. He is truly the Ambassador of Aloha.
